A 19-year-old girl driving a Mercedes hit a couple on a scooter in Kharghar. The woman died on the spot, and her husband was seriously injured. A case has been registered.
Kharghar | Navi Mumbai | June 21: A tragic accident shook Kharghar late last night as a 19-year-old girl, identified as Tithi Singh, allegedly rammed her speeding Mercedes Benz into a scooter carrying a couple on the Hiranandani Bridge.
According to police reports, Gopal Yadav and his wife were riding a scooter when the luxury car, driven at high speed, struck them from behind. The impact was so severe that the couple was thrown off the vehicle. Sadly, the woman died on the spot, while her husband suffered serious injuries and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital.
The incident has raised serious concerns about reckless driving, especially involving underage or inexperienced drivers handling high-powered vehicles. The Kharghar Police have registered a case against Tithi Singh and initiated a detailed investigation into the incident.
Authorities are also probing whether the teenager was driving with a valid license, and whether overspeeding or negligence was involved. Locals have expressed anger over the incident, demanding stricter enforcement of traffic laws for luxury vehicle drivers, especially among the youth.
