Blackmailed over a photo, 25-year-old TGT student Ruchi from Amroha ended her life, naming her harasser in a suicide note written on her hand. Police have registered a case.
Amroha, Uttar Pradesh | August 2, 2025:In a deeply disturbing incident from Dehra Milak village under the Saidangali police station limits of Amroha district, a 25-year-old girl named Ruchi, a TGT student, ended her life by hanging herself in her home. The tragic act was preceded by sustained blackmail and harassment by a local youth, according to a suicide note she wrote on her own hand, fearing any paper note would be destroyed.
Suicide Note Held Arun Responsible
Before taking the extreme step, Ruchi wrote on her hand, naming Arun, a young man from her village, as responsible for driving her to suicide. The victim’s family alleges that Arun took a photograph of Ruchi while she was riding a bike with a friend and began blackmailing her, threatening to expose her to her family.
Initially, Arun demanded ₹5,000, which Ruchi paid, hoping to end the matter. However, the harassment continued as Arun allegedly demanded ₹50,000, pushing her into mental agony. Despite trying to settle the issue quietly, Ruchi couldn’t bear the ongoing threats and finally chose to end her life.
Police Investigation Underway
Ruchi’s body was found hanging in her room, and was sent for post-mortem examination. Following the complaint by the bereaved family, a case has been registered against Arun and his brother. Police have confirmed the presence of the suicide note written on her hand and are investigating the matter based on the evidence.
This heartbreaking incident has sent shockwaves through the village, with local residents demanding swift justice for Ruchi.
