Hatke Music Group set a world record by performing all 56 songs of Geet Ramayan non-stop for 8 hours, honoring its legacy and cultural impact.
Pune, April 21, 2025: In a heartfelt tribute to a Marathi cultural gem, the Hatke Music Group set a new world record on Sunday by performing all 56 songs of Geet Ramayan continuously for eight hours—completely free of cost, as a public service. This musical marathon earned them a spot in the World Records India, marking a proud moment for Marathi music lovers.
The event, held at Ganesh Hall, New English School, Tilak Road, was part of the Hatke Geet Ramayan Vishwa Vikram Sohla, a celebration that drew music enthusiasts, dignitaries, and well-wishers alike. Among those present were Shirish Kulkarni, Director of Hatke Music Group, Shailendra Goswami of Pushkaraj Group, Tansen Chaudhary of Fluid Controls, and noted singer-harmonium artist Anil Mote.
Spreading the Legacy
Renowned writer Anand Madgulkar, speaking on the occasion, emphasized the timeless appeal of Geet Ramayan, originally penned by G.D. Madgulkar and set to music by Sudhir Phadke. He praised the group’s dedication to preserving and spreading this treasure to the next generation.
“This initiative is more than music—it’s cultural service. People from diverse professions have come together, united by their devotion to a poetic masterpiece that still stirs the hearts of Marathi-speaking audiences,” he said.
Music as Service
The event was not a standalone effort. As part of their Geet Ramayan Mahayagya 56 initiative, the group has already performed the entire Geet Ramayan 56 times at venues like temples, old-age homes, charitable institutions, and NGOs.
Adding to their effort, they also conducted a 10-day Sangeet Seva campaign, performing selected Geet Ramayan songs each morning in local temples—spreading devotion and melody with sincerity.
A Humble Tribute
In their acceptance of the world record, Hatke Music Group gave full credit to Gadima, Babuji, and the Madgulkar and Phadke families. “The timelessness of this creation lives on thanks to their extraordinary brilliance,” shared Director Shirish Kulkarni with heartfelt gratitude.
The group’s passion and discipline brought not just music, but also a wave of nostalgia, unity, and cultural pride to all who participated and witnessed the feat.
