The Maharashtra government has decided to rename Islampur village in Sangli district to Ishwarpur, a long-standing demand of Hindutva organizations and local citizens. Minister Chhagan Bhujbal announced the decision on the final day of the legislative session, confirming that the proposal has been sent to the Central Government for final approval.
