Pune | June 4, 2025: Javelin fans are in for a thrilling showdown this July as Olympic hero Neeraj Chopra gears up to host the Classic International Javelin Throwing Tournament at Sri Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru. The event, now scheduled for July 5, was originally planned for May 24 but had to be postponed due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.
This prestigious event is being held under Neeraj Chopra’s leadership, backed by JSW Sports and the Athletics Federation of India. A total of 12 elite javelin throwers—seven international athletes and five from India—will battle it out for top honours.
India’s representation will include Neeraj Chopra himself, along with Kishore Jena, Rohit Yadav, Sahil Silwal, and Sachin Yadav.
On the global front, the tournament will witness participation from some of the sport’s biggest names: Anderson Peters (two-time world champion), Thomas Röhler (2016 Olympic gold medalist), Julius Yego (2015 world champion), Curtis Thompson, Genki Dean, Rumesh Pathirage, and Luis De Silva.
This marks a rare opportunity for Indian fans to watch a high-octane international javelin event on home soil, with world-class talent sharing the same field.
Ticket prices range from an affordable ₹199 to a premium ₹9,999 for prime viewing spots near the throwing area. Additionally, five exclusive corporate boxes have been set up, each accommodating 15 guests. The price for a single seat in these VIP boxes has been pegged at ₹44,999, offering a luxury sports-viewing experience like never before.
The event not only promotes top-tier competition but also signals India’s growing footprint in global athletics, powered by Neeraj Chopra’s vision of fostering a strong javelin culture in the country.
