MNS leader’s son Rahil Sheikh was arrested for molesting Marathi actress Rajshree More in Mumbai. A political row has erupted, with MNS distancing itself and opposition slamming its silence.

Mumbai, 8 July 2025: A fresh controversy has erupted for Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) after a viral video surfaced showing Rahil Sheikh, son of MNS state vice-president Javed Sheikh, allegedly misbehaving with Marathi social media influencer and actress Rajshree More. The incident, which has triggered a political uproar, comes amid rising tensions over linguistic identity and Marathi pride in Mumbai.
According to the video shared by Rajshree More on her Instagram handle, Rahil Sheikh, allegedly under the influence of alcohol and half-naked, rammed into her car and proceeded to verbally abuse her. Rajshree claims he also misbehaved with her, showing off his father’s political clout. The incident took place in Andheri, and Amboli police have now registered a case of molestation and rash driving. Rahil Sheikh has also been arrested.
The backdrop of the incident is linked to a previous video where Rajshree More had made remarks critical of MNS’s aggressive Marathi language campaign. She stated, “Don’t force people to speak Marathi with a gun to their head. First teach Marathi people to work hard.” Her comments drew sharp backlash from MNS supporters, leading to a complaint against her at the Versova police station and a subsequent apology.
However, tensions escalated when Rahil allegedly tracked her down and confronted her in a threatening manner. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Nirupam shared the video of the incident on social media, calling it the “real face” of those who claim to protect Marathi pride. He wrote:
“Drunk, half-naked, abusing a Marathi woman—this is the son of MNS’s leader. Are MNS leaders attacking Hindus under the pressure of their Muslim office bearers?”
In response, MNS distanced itself from the controversy. Party spokesperson Avinash Jadhav clarified:
“Rahil Sheikh has no connection with the party. Javed Sheikh is an office bearer, but his son holds no position in MNS. We do not support Rahil’s behavior and demand strict police action.”
The incident has sparked widespread criticism of MNS’s internal discipline and deepened the debate around identity politics, party accountability, and women’s safety.
