With the onset of the monsoon and a surge in tourist footfall, the Pune district administration has enforced strict safety restrictions across popular Lonavala tourist destinations to prevent accidents and maintain order.

District Collector Jitendra Dudi has issued prohibitory orders applicable until August 31, covering hotspots like Ekvira Devi Temple, Karla and Bhaje Caves, Bhaje Waterfall, Lohagad and Visapur Forts, Tiger and Lions Point, Tikona Fort, Pawana Dam, and Shivling Point.

The decision follows rising incidents of road accidents and drowning, as well as chaotic traffic conditions observed by District Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill during his recent inspections of local access roads.
