Marathi actress Mukta Barve receives the prestigious Chitrapati V. Shantaram Special Contribution Award at the Maharashtra State Film Awards 2025; her mother breaks into tears witnessing her daughter’s proud moment.
Mumbai | August 6, 2025: In a heartfelt moment at the Maharashtra State Marathi Film Awards 2025, celebrated actress Mukta Barve was conferred with the Chitrapati Late V. Shantaram Special Contribution Award, recognizing her outstanding journey and impactful contribution to Marathi cinema and theatre. The ceremony, organized by The Maharashtra Film, Theatre and Cultural Development Corporation Limited in collaboration with the Directorate of Cultural Affairs, took place at the SVP Stadium Dome, Worli.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis personally presented the honour to Mukta. She was accompanied by her mother, whose emotional response touched everyone present. Overwhelmed with pride and joy, Mukta’s mother couldn’t hold back her tears as her daughter stood on stage receiving one of the most prestigious recognitions in the Marathi film industry.
In her acceptance speech, Mukta humbly said,
“All the honorable people on stage — my seniors, my audience, the writers, directors, co-stars who gave me opportunities — are looking at me with admiration. The only word I can think of now is gratitude.”
The evening also marked the presentation of the Lata Mangeshkar Award 2025 and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Mahavarasa Award 2025, along with the 60th and 61st Maharashtra State Marathi Film Awards, celebrating artistic excellence and cultural legacy.
