Pune| May 29, 2025 : Mumbai witnessed two spine-chilling incidents that have sent shockwaves across the city. Within 24 hours, two young women—each grappling with mental turmoil—leapt to their deaths from towering buildings.

On Tuesday, a 17-year-old schoolgirl jumped from the 45th floor of a plush residential tower in Goregaon. Her schoolbag held a chilling suicide note—”I’m choosing this on my own; no one is to blame.” She had been silently battling depression for six long years, undergoing psychiatric treatment. Her father, devastated, told police she had earlier attempted suicide and once questioned her psychiatrist:“Everyone dies someday, so why live?” That haunting sentence now echoes louder than ever.

Just a day earlier, on Monday, another young woman plunged from the 22nd floor in Vikhroli’s Kammanwar Nagar. Initial reports suggest she too was dealing with emotional upheaval and deep psychological stress triggered by sudden life changes. Her body was sent for post-mortem as police await clarity on the exact cause.

Two days. Two lives lost. And one city stunned into silence.

These tragic events expose the quiet storm of mental health battles waging behind closed doors. How many more cries for help will go unheard?
