Supriya Sule’s WhatsApp status quoting her mother’s advice to “tolerate” sparks speculation amid parallel NCP faction anniversaries. Her follow-up explanation fuels debate on internal party tensions.
Pune | June 11, 2025: As the Ajit Pawar-led faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) celebrates its anniversary in Balewadi, Pune, political activity and speculation are running high across Maharashtra. Party workers from various parts of the state have gathered in large numbers, fueling talk of a possible rapprochement between the factions of Ajit Pawar and party founder Sharad Pawar.
At the same time, Sharad Pawar’s original NCP faction is also observing the party’s foundation day with grandeur. Amidst these parallel celebrations, attention has sharply turned to a personal WhatsApp status posted by Supriya Sule — Member of Parliament, Sharad Pawar’s daughter, and Ajit Pawar’s sister — which has become a fresh topic of discussion in political circles.
What Did Supriya Sule Post?
On the eve of the NCP’s anniversary, Supriya Sule posted two consecutive statuses from her private WhatsApp number. The first status, posted around 6:26 PM, quoted advice from her mother, Pratibha Pawar:
“Mother knows everything. My parents gave me one piece of advice. I remind myself of what my mother told me every day: ‘Learn to tolerate’.
This cryptic yet reflective status sparked a flurry of interpretations and speculation regarding the internal tensions in the party and Sule’s personal stance amidst the split.
Follow-up Explanation Status
Soon after, Supriya Sule posted a second status clarifying her thoughts:
“Learn to tolerate… Injustice is happening before our eyes. We should keep trying. No matter how right our side is, injustice is happening. We can’t do anything, the situation is not in our hands… Then we should be strong and endure… Keep doing our duty. We should never forget our values…”
This elaboration did little to quell speculation and instead added more fuel to the political fire. The timing — just hours after she returned from Delhi and shortly after the party’s internal meeting — suggests it may carry deeper implications.
Context and Political Undercurrents
The statuses come at a time of visible tension between the Pawars. Just days ago, during a meeting at the Vasantdada Patil Sugar Institute, Ajit Pawar was seen deliberately distancing himself from Sharad Pawar by moving his chair — a symbolic gesture that did not go unnoticed.
Moreover, Supriya Sule, who had been in Delhi, returned to Maharashtra Monday evening ahead of the faction’s anniversary gathering. When questioned by reporters, she explained that the status was not politically motivated but a spontaneous recollection of her mother’s advice while boarding her flight.
A Message Beyond Words?
While Sule insists the status was personal and reflective, the timing and wording have raised eyebrows across both party factions and the media. As the NCP continues to navigate its internal rift, every message — whether from a rally stage or a WhatsApp status — is being viewed through a political lens.
