New Chapter in Education: State Rolls Out 8 Anand Gurukul Schools Advanced

Anand Gurukul schools planned, combining academics with modern fields like AI, global tourism, sustainability, and financial literacy across state divisions.

Anshu Kashid | Pune| April 18, 2025 : The Anand Gurukul Residential Schools will provide an enhanced educational experience for classes 9 to 12, focusing on both the regular curriculum and modern-day disciplines to meet the needs of the 21st century.

Alongside the standard academic subjects, special branches of study such as sports, art, science and technology, non-traditional energy, communication skills, financial services, management, health services, global tourism, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development will be taught.

The state plans to establish eight Anand Gurukul Residential Schools, with each school accommodating 200 students.

These schools will be set up across the state’s eight educational divisions. A study group has been appointed to oversee the project, chaired by Education Commissioner Sachinendra Pratap Singh, and including the State Project Director of the Primary Education Council, Director of the State Educational Research and Training Council, Director of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Director of School Management, Deputy Secretary, Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, and Joint Director.

A sub-committee has been formed, under the leadership of the State Educational Research and Training Council, to finalize the curriculum for meritorious subjects and establish the regular operational procedures for the schools.

Of the eight educational divisions in the state, Vidyanya Niketans operating in five districts of Yavatmal, Satara and Amravati, Dhule, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar with in addition in three other educational divisions, suitable schools that are in good condition and have scope for development will be selected from the schools that have facilities similar to government Niketans and are currently operating.

The School Education Department has stated in the ordinance that a proposal will be submitted to the state government after considering the facilities and necessary funds required for the establishment of residential schools through a committee.
