Pune | 20 February, 2026- Residents of Pimpri-Chinchwad will face a temporary disruption in water supply on February 23, 2026, as the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has scheduled essential maintenance work at the Nigdi Water Treatment Plant. The civic body has announced a complete shutdown of water distribution across the city for the day to facilitate critical repair, electrical upgrades, and pipeline maintenance work aimed at strengthening the overall water infrastructure.

According to civic officials, the planned suspension is part of routine infrastructure improvement measures designed to prevent larger breakdowns in the future. The Nigdi Water Treatment Plant plays a crucial role in supplying treated water to several residential, commercial, and industrial areas within Pimpri-Chinchwad. During the shutdown period on February 23, there will be no water supply across multiple zones of the city.

Authorities have also cautioned that the impact may extend beyond the one-day suspension. On February 24, residents may experience low water pressure and irregular supply as the system gradually stabilizes and reservoirs refill. The restoration process typically takes several hours after such maintenance operations, particularly in densely populated localities where demand is high.
