In a major development in the high-profile Pune Porsche accident case, the Bombay High Court has denied bail to the accused, marking a significant legal setback. Justice N.R. Borkar, presiding over the hearing, observed grave concerns regarding the fabrication of evidence, delivering a serious blow to the defense’s position.

The case, which has captured nationwide attention, involves the juvenile driver of the Porsche and several others. Currently, the teenager’s parents, two doctors from Sassoon Hospital, and two alleged middlemen are in judicial custody.

Public Prosecutor Adv. Shishir Hirey, who has maintained a steady stream of arguments since the beginning of the case, recently convinced the court of the seriousness of the charges, particularly the deliberate creation of false evidence.
“This case is not just about an accident or the destruction of evidence. It involves the deliberate creation of false evidence for the benefit of the accused,” observed Justice Borkar. “This makes your bail application unfit for acceptance. As of today, I am not inclined to grant you bail.”

Justice Borkar’s remarks came while addressing the counsel representing the accused — including parents of Juvenile who was driving the Porsche, Dr. Tawre, and others. The court’s firm stance, bolstered by the arguments of Public Prosecutor Shishir Hirey, signals upholding the integrity of the judicial process and sends a clear message against any attempts to manipulate ongoing investigations.

This decision is expected to significantly impact the direction and pace of the case as further inquiries continue.
