Pune Airport Shines: Soaring to 2nd in India, 57th Globally in Passenger Satisfaction

Pune Airport’s commitment to passenger comfort earns it a top spot in India and a global ranking boost. Despite minor hiccups, travelers celebrate improved services and a welcoming experience.

Pune| 29July, 2025: On July 29, 2025, Pune Airport celebrated a remarkable achievement, climbing to second place among Indian airports and 57th worldwide in the latest Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey, conducted by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the Canada-based Airport Council International (ACI). The survey, covering April to June 2025, evaluated nearly 500 airports globally, including 16 in India, placing Pune in the spotlight for its strides in enhancing passenger satisfaction. For travelers who call Pune home or pass through its gates, this milestone reflects a growing commitment to making every journey smoother and more pleasant.

The ASQ survey assessed Pune Airport across 31 criteria, with the facility showing improvement in 27 areas, from sparkling clean restrooms and terminals to faster check-in and security processes. Travelers have noticed the difference, appreciating friendlier staff interactions and better-quality food stalls that add a touch of comfort to their journeys. These improvements have transformed the airport into a more welcoming hub, earning praise from passengers who value efficiency and care in their travel experience. For a city known for its vibrancy, Pune Airport’s rise is a point of pride, showcasing its ability to compete on a global stage.

Despite the progress, the survey pointed out a few areas needing attention. Reaching the airport on time remains a challenge for some, with traffic and connectivity issues causing delays. Additionally, travelers noted occasional lapses in courtesy from airline staff, limited support during check-in, and inconsistent engagement from food stall employees. These feedback points offer a roadmap for further growth, as the airport works to ensure every aspect of the passenger experience feels seamless and supportive.

The ACI-ASQ survey, a trusted global benchmark, gathers direct input from passengers, making its findings a powerful tool for improving airport operations. For Pune’s residents, the airport’s climb from fourth to second in India and from 59th to 57th globally is a testament to the hard work of its staff and management. It’s a shared victory for a community that relies on the airport as a gateway to the world, whether for business, family visits, or new adventures.

As Pune Airport continues to refine its services, travelers are optimistic about its future. The focus on passenger-centric improvements promises even better experiences, from shorter wait times to warmer interactions. For now, the airport stands as a shining example of how dedication to quality can elevate a city’s reputation globally. Passengers passing through its terminals can feel the difference—a cleaner, friendlier, and more efficient hub that makes travel a little brighter.
