Pune court denies bail in ₹100cr land fraud where accused forged wills to transfer property to builder. Legal heir fights for justice as police delay action in the complex inheritance scam.

A shocking property fraud case has emerged in Pune where relatives allegedly forged death certificates and wills to illegally transfer ancestral land worth over ₹100 crore to prominent builder Sanjay Kakade. The district court recently rejected the anticipatory bail plea of prime accused Dilip Kalate, marking a crucial development in this complex inheritance scam.

The controversy centers around a prime 101-acre Wakad property originally belonging to the late Maruti Kalate, who passed away in 1999. His daughter-in-law Puja Kalate, a lawyer, filed a police complaint alleging that Dilip and Nandkumar Kalate (her uncles) conspired with five others including Dr. Tushar Chaudhary to create bogus inheritance documents. Using these forged papers, they reportedly divided the property and transferred portions to builder Sanjay Kakade through a development agreement registered at the Haveli sub-registrar office.

Despite the FIR being filed four months ago at Wakad Police Station, no arrests have been made, prompting Puja to approach senior officials. Investigations reveal the accused Kalate brothers have multiple serious offenses registered against them at various police stations. The court’s rejection of bail, after hearing arguments from Puja’s lawyer Raju Patil, highlights the gravity of this white-collar crime that deprived legal heirs of their rightful inheritance.
