Pune Police raided an upscale Kharadi flat, detaining seven individuals, including Pranjal Khewalkar, husband of NCP leader Rohini Khadse, in a late-night operation exposing a hidden drug-fueled gathering
Pune | 28 July, 2025: The incident has sparked widespread concern, highlighting issues of drug abuse and accountability in elite circles.
In a dramatic late-night crackdown, Pune Police stormed a private flat in the posh Kharadi area, uncovering an illicit rave party. Among the seven detained was Pranjal Khewalkar, married to NCP leader Rohini Khadse and son-in-law of prominent politician Eknath Khadse, sending shockwaves through political and social circles.

The gathering, masked as a private house party, was held in a lodge. Acting on a tip, authorities swooped in, seizing narcotics, hookahs, and alcohol. The detainees, including five men and two women, were found indulging in drug use and drinking.
Charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the group now faces serious legal consequences. The case has raised alarm about the rise of clandestine, drug-fueled parties in Pune’s affluent neighborhoods, prompting questions about oversight and enforcement.
Police are digging deeper, investigating potential drug suppliers and the broader network behind the event. As the probe unfolds, more details may emerge, casting a spotlight on the intersection of privilege, politics, and accountability.
