Pune, April 21, 2025: In a significant operation, Pune’s Vimantal Police arrested two suspected bike thieves and seized ten stolen motorcycles, including seven linked to cases within their jurisdiction, after receiving a tip-off about suspicious activity in Sanjay Park.
The Operation
Acting on confidential information, a special team of plainclothes officers set up a decoy operation. The suspects, both 21-year-olds from Lohegaon, were apprehended while in possession of a stolen Bullet motorcycle. Further investigation revealed their involvement in multiple thefts across Pune.

Behind the Bust
The operation was part of a coordinated effort by Vimantal Police Station , with officers monitoring the duo’s movements before making the arrests. Authorities credit improved intelligence-sharing and enhanced surveillance for the successful recovery.
The case was solved thanks to the efforts of DCP Himmat Jadhav, ACP Pranjali Sonavane, Senior Police Insepector Ajay Sankeshwari, Police Inspector (Crime) Ashalata Khapre, API Chandan and their team, including Dadasaheb Barde, Dyandev Awari ,Rupesh Pisal, Shailesh Naik, Ankush Jogdande, and Girish Nanekar.

Police are advising two-wheeler owners to stay vigilant and implement anti-theft measures as they continue to investigate stolen vehicle networks in the city. The suspects face multiple charges under the IPC, including theft and criminal conspiracy.
