A gang vandalized vehicles in Pune’s Khorad settlement, creating panic among residents. Locals demand police action as rising crimes revive fears of previous gang terror, threatening peace in the area.

Pune | August 2, 2025: Tension gripped the Khorad settlement in the Hingne area on Sinhagad Road late Thursday night after a gang of 15–20 armed youths went on a rampage, damaging vehicles and threatening residents. This latest act of violence has once again sparked fear across Pune, raising concerns over deteriorating law and order in the city.

According to reports, the gang entered the locality between 8:15 to 8:30 PM, allegedly from the Mhasoba temple area, and targeted 8 to 10 two-wheelers and rickshaws, smashing them with pickaxes and iron rods. Eyewitnesses stated that the gang openly threatened citizens, creating a state of panic in the neighborhood.

This is not the first time the Khorad area has witnessed such mayhem. A few months ago, Pune had been terrorized by the ‘Koyata Gang’, and now similar groups seem to be reviving that fear. The recurring pattern of violence is causing undue distress to local residents, who are becoming unwilling victims in what appears to be a turf war between rival gangs.

Citizens have now urged the police to take strong and permanent action against such groups and restore peace in the area. The growing number of such incidents has also put pressure on the police department to intensify patrolling and law enforcement efforts, especially in sensitive zones like Hingne and Sinhagad Road.

As the fear spreads, residents are demanding swift arrests and a crackdown to prevent further escalation.
