Pune | 23 July, 2025: There’s good news for Punekars as Indian Railways has officially announced the launch of four new Vande Bharat Express trains from Pune. These new semi-high-speed trains will connect Pune with Shegaon, Vadodara, Secunderabad (Hyderabad), and Belagavi—dramatically improving travel time and connectivity to these major destinations.
Currently, only two Vande Bharat trains run from Pune, covering Kolhapur and Hubballi. With the addition of these four new routes, the total count will go up to six, making Pune a key Vande Bharat hub in Maharashtra.
Here’s what the new routes will look like:
- Pune–Shegaon Vande Bharat: This route will benefit religious tourists, especially devotees of Shri Gajanan Maharaj, with expected stops at Daund, Ahmednagar, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, and Jalna.
- Pune–Vadodara Vande Bharat: Likely to stop at Lonavala, Panvel, Vapi, and Surat, this train is expected to cut the current travel time from nine hours to just 6–7 hours.
- Pune–Secunderabad Vande Bharat: Connecting two major IT and education hubs, this train is expected to stop at Daund, Solapur, and Gulbarga, reducing travel time by 2–3 hours.
- Pune–Belagavi Vande Bharat: A major upgrade for South Maharashtra and North Karnataka travelers, this train may stop at Satara, Sangli, and Miraj.
Modern Amenities at Affordable Price
These trains will be equipped with state-of-the-art features such as ergonomic seating, automatic doors, onboard Wi-Fi, bio-toilets, and modern security systems. The ticket fares for these new routes are expected to range between ₹1,500 and ₹2,000, depending on distance and class of travel.
With these additions, Pune’s connectivity to religious, commercial, and tech hubs is set to strengthen, offering passengers a faster, more comfortable travel alternative.
