Sindhudurg | June 12, 2025: A grand project celebrating the maritime brilliance of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is set to rise at Rajkot Fort in Malvan taluka. In a meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, the state approved the establishment of a museum, exhibition space, and tourism centre that will chronicle the legacy of India’s first navy founded by Shivaji Maharaj. A towering statue of Shivaji Maharaj will also be erected at the site.
The initiative, named ‘Shivsrushti’, has been allotted a budget of ₹83.45 crore. Ministers Shivendrasingh Raje Bhosale and Nitesh Rane, along with other key officials, were present at the meeting. The project is envisioned as a source of inspiration for the younger generation and as a heritage destination to boost coastal tourism.
Relief for Mumbai-Goa Highway Travelers: ₹15 Crore Sanctioned for Alternate Route
In the same meeting, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar addressed ongoing traffic woes on the under-construction Mumbai-Goa National Highway. He approved ₹15 crore for the development of an alternate road to relieve congestion, especially in Mangaon and Indapur, until the highway’s Mangaon Outer Road section is completed.
The meeting, held via video conferencing, also reviewed the status of the Indapur Outer Road and overall progress of the Mumbai-Goa National Highway project. Public Works Minister Shivendrasingh Raje Bhosale, Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare, MP Sunil Tatkare, and central highway department officials were in attendance.
Pawar had recently conducted aerial and on-ground inspections in Raigad district on May 18, leading to these decisions. He assured that the state government will step in with funding for roadworks where central allocations fall short, ensuring smoother connectivity for commuters and tourists alike.
