Raigad Fort | June 9, 2025:
Emphasising the cultural and historical significance of Maharashtra’s forts, Sambhajiraje Chhatrapati urged the state government to adopt 25 forts for preservation — assuring that no public funds would be required, as devoted citizens stand ready to restore them.

Speaking at the grand Shivarajyabhishek ceremony organised by the All India Shivarajyabhishek Mahotsav Samiti at Raigad Fort, Sambhajiraje expressed confidence in the community’s ability to revive the forts with dignity.
“We do not seek a single rupee; we will rebuild them ourselves,” he declared, reaffirming the spirit of self-reliance.

He also called for the coronation ceremony of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to be recognised as a national festival. In light of today’s social challenges — rising terrorism, injustices against women, and growing communal tensions — Sambhajiraje advocated for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s story to be included in the national curriculum to inspire unity and resilience.

“Only works that honour the true spirit of Maharaj will be allowed on Raigad,” he stressed, adding that he plans to camp with fellow Shiva devotees again next year during the celebrations.

Highlighting fresh archaeological findings that show Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj lived behind the palace, Sambhajiraje urged the Archaeological Department to grant permission to restore the royal grandeur of the historic site.
