Pune, 31 May 2025: Singapore, 31 May 2025 – India’s top men’s doubles badminton duo, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, delivered a stellar performance to enter the semifinals of the Singapore Open 2025. The pair defeated the world number one Malaysian duo, Goh Sze Fei and Noor Izzuddin, in straight sets, 21-17, 21-15, during the quarterfinal clash on Friday.
Ranked among the world’s elite, Satwik and Chirag displayed composure and high-quality net play throughout the match. They took control early in the first game and maintained the lead to finish it 21-17. Building on their momentum, the Indians showed dominance in the second game, securing a comfortable 21-15 win and wrapping up the match in just 39 minutes.
Their next challenge will be against another strong Malaysian pair—Aaron Chia and Soh Wui Yik—in the semifinals. Notably, the Indian pair has been seeded third in the tournament and has maintained top form throughout their campaign.
This win further cements Satwik and Chirag’s reputation as one of the most formidable doubles pairs in world badminton today. Fans back home will be eagerly watching as they aim to bring home another prestigious title.
