Pune, June 26, 2025 – What began as a private connection on a dating app between a married school teacher and a city hotelier in Pune has spiraled into a public ordeal, marked by heartbreak, betrayal, and a relentless campaign of revenge. The teacher, a 32-year-old resident of Dhankawadi, formed a secret two-year relationship with the hotelier after meeting on Instagram. The affair, initially discreet, grew complicated, pulling the teacher’s family into its turbulent wake.
Seeking to protect his family, which includes his wife and eight-year-old daughter, the teacher decided to end the relationship. This decision, however, ignited a firestorm. The hotelier, unable to accept the breakup, allegedly turned to digital vengeance. He is accused of creating a fake profile on a gay dating app, uploading explicit photos of the teacher, and sharing intimate images involving the teacher’s wife. False claims about the couple’s health were also posted, aimed at tarnishing their reputation in their close-knit community.
The harassment extended beyond the online world. The hotelier allegedly stalked the family, spread defamatory content across social media, and caused disturbances outside their home. The teacher’s wife, desperate to shield her daughter from the growing stigma, turned to the Sahakarnagar police for help. Her complaint detailed the emotional toll on the family, particularly the impact on their young daughter’s sense of safety and belonging.
The police have since launched an investigation, filing charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, for stalking, molestation, and violations of the Information Technology Act. The hotelier, also married but without children, is currently on the run, though authorities are confident in apprehending him soon. Digital evidence is being meticulously gathered to ensure justice for the family caught in this distressing saga.
