Pune| May 29, 2025 : Nearly 6,000 teaching and non-teaching staff of the Sinhagad Institute are reeling under a severe financial crisis, with salaries pending for 25 months, amounting to nearly ₹500 crore. Despite repeated appeals, the management has failed to clear the dues, pushing employees from over 56 institutions into prolonged uncertainty.
The Sinhagad Coordination Committee, which is actively pursuing the issue, revealed that the salary backlog includes 13 recent months and 12 months from the pandemic period. Those affected range from teachers, professors, and drivers to staff from schools and colleges in disciplines like engineering, pharmacy, medical, and law.
Sachin Shinde, coordinator of the committee, said, “The High Court, during a hearing on May 9, 2025, had directed the institution to sell assets and disburse salaries, but no follow-up action has been taken by regulatory bodies like the Charity Commissionerate, AICTE, DTE, or Savitribai Phule Pune University.”
The committee has demanded that a government-appointed administrator be installed to resolve the crisis and ensure employees receive their dues.
Meanwhile, key figures from the institution, including founder president Dr. M. N. Navale and Vice President (HR) Rohit Navale, have remained unresponsive despite being approached for clarification.
The prolonged delay and institutional inaction have raised serious concerns about mismanagement, prompting demands for urgent intervention from state and central regulatory authorities.
