Solapur | June 9, 2025: Solapur is all set to enter a new era of connectivity with the launch of direct air services to Goa and Mumbai — a long-awaited convenience for the city’s residents and a boost for local development.

The Solapur-Goa-Solapur service will begin this Monday (June 9), operated by Fly91’s ATR-72 aircraft, which will land at Solapur airport from Goa’s Mopa Airport around 9 am. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister of State Muralidhar Mohol will attend the inaugural event.

Adding to this, Star Air will commence Solapur-Mumbai flights in the first week of August. The service will also operate with ATR-72 aircraft, offering 72 seats per flight. Bookings for the Mumbai route will open in early July.

The Mumbai service is being supported through the state government’s ‘Viability Gap Funding’ (VGF) scheme, ensuring ticket prices remain affordable for Solapur passengers.

With these new links, the city is not only gaining easier access to key destinations but also positioning itself for enhanced tourism and business opportunities. There is growing anticipation that Solapur-Pune air service may also follow soon.
