Mumbai | July 23, 2025: Actress Tanushree Dutta, who spearheaded the #MeToo movement in Bollywood, has posted a heart-wrenching video on Instagram, alleging ongoing harassment at her residence. Visibly distressed and in tears, Tanushree claimed that despite repeatedly alerting the authorities, she continues to face intimidation and suffering—an ordeal she says has been ongoing since 2018.
In the emotional video, she says,
“I am being harassed in my own house… I just called the police. They told me to visit the police station and file a complaint. Maybe I’ll go tomorrow or the day after. My health is not good. I’ve been enduring this harassment for the past four to five years.”
Tanushree further claimed in her caption,
“I’m tired of this harassment!! This has been going on since #MeToo in 2018. Today I called the police out of frustration. Please, someone help me.”
She has directly named Nana Patekar and an unidentified person referred to as “Chulman Bhai”, alleging that in 2019, Nana approached this individual, who then allegedly took ₹5 crore to suppress sensitive information related to an NGO controversy. The identity of this “Chulman Bhai” remains unclear, but the name has sparked intense speculation online.
Tanushree also revealed a string of personal hardships:
- She has been unwell and unable to work.
- She avoids hiring domestic help due to theft experiences.
- She has had to manage everything on her own, adding to her emotional and physical exhaustion.
- She has endured daily disturbances since 2020, including strange and loud noises outside her flat and on the roof. Despite repeated complaints to the building management, no effective action was taken.
The video has gone viral on social media, drawing support, concern, and debate, as users demand clarity and justice. While no official complaint has yet been registered, the incident has reignited public attention around the #MeToo allegations and Tanushree’s long-standing battle with industry power structures.
