Jaishankar, in Belgium, called terrorism a global threat, not just an India-Pakistan issue. He said many attacks trace back to Pakistan and warned India won’t tolerate terrorism anymore
Brussels | June 11, 2025 : External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, while addressing the Indian diaspora in Belgium, emphasized that terrorism must be viewed as a global threat, not a bilateral dispute. On his ongoing Europe tour, Jaishankar firmly stated that linking terrorism solely to the India-Pakistan or Kashmir context is misleading.
Referring to the 2016 Brussels attack, he highlighted that Europe too has been a victim of terrorism, underscoring that no region is immune. “Terrorism is not the problem of any one country. When a nation uses terrorism as a state policy, the situation becomes far more dangerous,” he said.
Without naming Pakistan directly at first, Jaishankar pointed out that many major global terrorist incidents over the past thirty years have had links to Pakistan. He criticized the global narrative that often frames terrorism through a narrow regional lens and stressed the need for a united international approach.
“India has suffered deeply from terrorism. Today, we are sending a clear message to the world—we will not tolerate terrorism anymore,” Jaishankar declared, reaffirming India’s zero-tolerance stance on terrorism.
