A police recruitment trainer in Bhandara’s Adyal area was arrested for demanding sexual favors from a female trainee and using casteist slurs against her friend. The case is under investigation.
Bhandara | August 5, 2025: A disturbing incident has come to light from Adyal in Bhandara district, where a trainer at a private pre-police recruitment academy was arrested for allegedly demanding sexual favors from a female trainee and using casteist slurs against her friend.
The accused, identified as Nitesh Hivarkar (39), a resident of Sonegaon Thane in Pauni taluka, was employed at a training academy where several young men and women were preparing for upcoming police recruitment drives.
According to police sources, Hivarkar allegedly approached one of the female trainees and demanded sexual pleasure from her. Shocked by the incident, the trainee confided in her friend, who confronted the trainer. In response, Hivarkar allegedly hurled caste-based abuses at the friend, further escalating the situation.
The victim’s friend immediately lodged a complaint at the Adyal police station. Acting swiftly, the police registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 75(2), 351, and 352(2), as well as sections 3(1)(r) and 3(1)(s) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
The accused was arrested late Monday night and is currently in police custody. The investigation is ongoing.
This shocking incident has sparked serious concerns about the safety and dignity of aspirants, especially women, undergoing physical training for police recruitment. Authorities are expected to review the safety protocols at such private training academies.
