Pune, 31 May 2025: Pune, 31 May 2025 – A growing heap of garbage near the entrance of Warje, close to Dukkar Khindi on the service road, has become a serious concern for local citizens. The uncollected waste, lying there for over ten days, has led to unbearable stench, forcing commuters and morning walkers to cover their faces with handkerchiefs.

Residents say that this mounting garbage is not just a health hazard but also spoiling the image of Warje, especially for people entering the area for the first time. “It’s embarrassing. Visitors get bad impression of our locality,” said a local resident.

The problem has worsened as tempos reportedly dump garbage here at night, and some citizens add to it during the day. With no regular collection, a garbage mound has formed, making the area unhygienic and unwelcoming. Morning and evening walkers using the service road are particularly affected, as the foul smell makes daily routines unpleasant.

Frustrated locals have now demanded that the health department of the Municipal Corporation take swift action. They insist on daily garbage collection and immediate cleaning of the affected area to prevent this from becoming a permanent dumping spot.

The situation reflects poor monitoring and delayed municipal response, and residents urge authorities to act before the issue turns into a full-fledged health concern.
