Rain has flooded roads in Avasari Khurd, forcing villagers and students to walk through stagnant water. Residents fear disease outbreaks and demand urgent Gram Panchayat action for drainage and road repairs.

Avasari Khurd | June 13, 2025: Continuous rainfall has led to severe waterlogging on the roads of Avasari Khurd village in Ambegaon tehsil, posing a serious health risk to residents. Roads in Shindemala, Pandhrabiga, and Darekar Basti are submerged, forcing villagers and school children to wade through dirty, stagnant water daily.

The situation has triggered a spike in mosquito and insect populations, increasing the risk of vector-borne diseases like dengue and chikungunya. Concerned residents have urged the Gram Panchayat to act immediately by filling potholes and clearing waterlogged zones to ease traffic and prevent the spread of illness.

The Pandhrabiga and Matang Basti roads, elevated near Khalchi Ves, are causing water to collect at the Bazarpeth Road junction, creating a persistent pool of stagnant water. This has led to continuous inconvenience and heightened health risks, especially for students and daily commuters.

Though the road from Avasari Khurd ST stand to the main market was cement concretized three years ago, poor water management and lack of drainage planning have nullified its effectiveness during rains. Villagers from Khalcha Shindemala have demanded a long-term drainage solution to prevent recurrence.

Residents say this isn’t just a seasonal nuisance—it’s a public health emergency in the making.
