Rain to resume across Western Maharashtra, with Sangli and Solapur under yellow alert. Light showers, thunder, and gusty winds expected in most districts, as per IMD’s latest weather update.
Pune | August 5, 2025: Rain and rising humidity have marked the past few days across Maharashtra, and now the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a return of rainfall in several districts of Western Maharashtra. While some areas received scattered showers, others remained mostly dry. However, the next 24 hours may bring significant changes, with yellow alerts issued in some districts due to the possibility of heavy rain and lightning.
In Pune district, light rain was recorded in all parts over the last 24 hours. The maximum temperature reached 29.6°C and is expected to rise slightly to 30°C today, with a minimum temperature of 22°C. The IMD has forecast generally cloudy skies with light rain continuing across the district.
Satara district experienced continuous rainfall in the last 24 hours. Temperatures are expected to hover around 30°C. The IMD has predicted one or two spells of light rain, accompanied by thunder, for the next 24 hours.
In Kolhapur district, no rainfall was recorded in the past day, and the temperature stood at 29.9°C. A slight drop to 28°C is expected. The weather department has forecast isolated spells of rain with thunder and lightning.
Solapur district, which received rain in the past 24 hours, is likely to witness a sharp shift in weather patterns. The IMD has issued a yellow alert, warning of heavy rainfall accompanied by gusty winds and lightning over the next few days. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions.
In Sangli district, 0.8 mm of rain was recorded in the last 24 hours. The temperature is expected to range between a maximum of 32°C and a minimum of 24°C. Light rain with a cloudy sky is predicted today, but the IMD has also warned that rain intensity will increase, prompting a yellow alert for the coming days.
Overall, temperatures across Western Maharashtra are fluctuating, and the IMD has stated that rains are likely to resume more actively in several areas over the next 24 to 48 hours. For the rest of the state, the forecast suggests partly cloudy skies with light showers and lightning at isolated locations.
