Pandharpur | June 9, 2025: In preparation for the upcoming Ashadhi Ekadashi Yatra, lakhs of devotees are expected to visit the revered Shri Vitthal-Rukmini Temple in Pandharpur. This year, the temple committee has introduced a range of enhanced facilities to ensure a smooth darshan experience.
From June 27 onwards, round-the-clock darshan will be facilitated for Lord Vitthal and Goddess Rukmini, announced Joint President of the Temple Committee, Gahininath Maharaj Ausekar, after a review meeting at Vitthal-Rukmini Bhakt Nivas.
The Ashadhi Yatra will run from June 26 to July 10, with Ashadhi Ekadashi falling on July 6. A Government Maha Puja will be performed at 2:20 AM on July 5-6 by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, accompanied by representatives of the Warkari sect.
Key arrangements include:
- Token-based darshan system, first test on June 15
- Waterproof pavilions, barricading, and restrooms
- Live darshan streaming, cooler fans, and public announcements
- 24-hour Annachhatra, emergency medical services, and security
- Bag scanners, changing rooms near the river

Executive Officer Rajendra Shelke assured that all arrangements would be completed on time. This year’s event also sees the continuation of the Vitthal Nirmal Dindi Award tradition.
An official invitation to the Chief Minister for the Maha Puja will be extended around June 16 or 17, shared Administrator Manoj Shrotri.
With these efforts, the committee aims to provide a safe, comfortable, and spiritually enriching experience for the sea of devotees expected to descend upon Pandharpur this Ashadhi.
