An 84-year-old fan from Solapur district traveled alone to Satara to check on actress Monica Rathi after her character in Constable Manju was shown critically injured in a recent episode, leaving the entire team emotional.

Satara, Maharashtra | June 26, 2025: In a heartwarming and emotional moment that speaks volumes about the power of storytelling, 84-year-old Dattu Karne from Dharmapuri village in Solapur district traveled all the way to Satara after being deeply affected by a recent episode of Constable Manju, the popular Sun Marathi serial.

The episode, which showed the character Manju getting shot during a victory rally, left viewers distressed—none more so than Dattu Karne. Without informing his family, he journeyed over 300 kilometers just to make sure “Manju” was safe.

Upon reaching Satara, he went straight to the local police station and innocently asked the officers, “How is Manju? Is she fine?” Touched by his pure concern, Sub-Inspector Ashok Sawanji and Constable Anil Sawant arranged for him to visit the shooting set and meet actress Monica Rathi, who plays the role of Manju.

On set, the moment turned emotional as Karne held Rathi’s hand and asked about her health, genuinely shaken by the episode. He even scolded “Satya,” another character, for putting Manju in danger. The entire cast and crew were moved to tears, overwhelmed by the sincerity and affection of the elderly fan.

While his family back in Solapur had begun to worry about his whereabouts, the Satara police quickly contacted them and ensured his safe return. The Constable Manju team warmly welcomed Karne and arranged for his comfortable journey back home.

Speaking about the incident, Monica Rathi said, “Words fail to express what we felt. It’s one thing to receive social media reactions, but it’s something else when an 84-year-old man travels all the way just out of concern for a character. That moment—him holding my hand and asking if I’m okay—was more powerful than any award.”

She added, “This is the true success of our serial. It’s not just a story anymore—it’s a living emotion for the audience.”

This incident has left a lasting impression not just on the show’s team, but also on fans and the broader television community, highlighting how deeply fictional narratives can connect with real lives.
