
Marathi Version of 'Untold Ramayana Stories' Launched
Pune, April 15, 2025 – The Marathi translation of Untold Stories of Ramayana, originally authored in English by Gaurang Damani, was officially launched by Usha Publications during a special literary event. Translated by Dr. Kimaya Deshpande, the book sheds light on lesser-known tales from the epic Ramayana, offering readers a fresh perspective rooted in mythology and research.
The occasion also featured the presentation of the Sahitya Usha Puraskar (Usha Literary Award) for the years 2024–25. Renowned scholar and founder of Ishavasy Gurukulam, Dr. Neelima Deshpande, was conferred with the award for her exceptional contributions to research-based literary work. The honor reflects Usha Publications’ ongoing commitment to promoting in-depth scholarly writing in Indian languages.
The event was moderated by Advocate Rupali Kulkarni, and saw the presence of several dignitaries including translator Dr. Kimaya Deshpande, author Gaurang Damani, Member of Parliament Dr. Medha Kulkarni, and Dr. Ambrish Khare, Professor of Sanskrit at Tilak Maharashtra University. The vote of thanks was proposed by Kishore Deshpande.
