
Pune Division Railway Stations Undergoing Comprehensive Redevelopment Under Amrit Bharat Yojana
Pune railway stations has been 70% upgraded under Amrit Bharat scheme, modernizing amenities and infrastructure across division.
Pune, April 17, 2025 – The Pune Railway Division is making substantial progress in station redevelopment under the Amrit Bharat Station Yojana, with over 70% of work completed across multiple stations. The initiative focuses on modernizing infrastructure and enhancing passenger amenities, including improved accessibility, better waiting areas, modern toilet facilities, elevators, escalators, free WiFi, and Divyangjan-friendly features.
At Talegaon station, several key components have been completed, including the reservation office, platform surfaces, portico, ramps, toilet blocks, COEP system, station master room, and whip room. Ongoing works include the parking area (65% complete), waiting hall (90%), circulating area (65%), compound wall (75%), second entry gate (70%), water booth (75%), and Foot Over Bridge (25-65% completion).
Dehu Road station has completed its DG room construction, while work continues on the toilet block (45%), COEP (30%), and several pillars. Major pending components include the frontage, portico, circulating area, lighting, and entry construction.
Akurdi and Chinchwad stations have finished their toilet blocks, prestige area COP work, and water booth plumbing. Construction is underway for the new waiting area, front building, PCMC toilet block, and PF1 surfacing. The boundary wall and FOB illumination work remain in progress. Completed sections include the station and booking office extension, toilet below FOB, and classroom area. Ongoing works involve the circulating area and parking, booking office and waiting room renovation, new toilet block installation, lift and escalator work, COP implementation, and platform upgrades. Illumination work is still pending.
Hadapsar and Uruli stations show significant progress, with major construction in Buildings A and C completed. Building A is 70% finished, while Building D stands at 90% completion. COP work is 80% done, platform seven is at 20%, and the FOB is 25% complete. Pending works include facade, portico, lighting, seating area, sanitation, lifts, and escalators. At Uruli station, platform surface COP and toilet block work is finished, while painting continues in the VIP waiting room and booking hall. Additional ongoing works include tile fixing and entrance construction on platform two, with seating and lighting still pending.
Work is progressing at Daund and Kedgaon stations, where the approach road repair and platform surfacing of buildings have been completed. Ongoing works include the powerhouse, platform shelter unit relocation, water stain improvement, model toilet construction, and Type 3 quarter development. Completed works at these stations include COP, gates, portico, parking and circulation area, platform surface, new toilet block, booking office, seating, lighting, and compound wall.
This comprehensive redevelopment effort under the Amrit Bharat Station Yojana aims to transform Pune’s railway stations into modern, passenger-friendly hubs with state-of-the-art facilities and sustainable design elements.
