South Indian actor Arya faces Income Tax raids at his Chennai residence and former restaurant properties. His name surfaced during an investigation linked to businessman Kunhi Musa. No official statement yet.
Mumbai/Chennai | Popular South Indian actor and producer Arya has landed in hot water as the Income Tax Department has launched raids at his residence and properties associated with his name. The sudden action has come as a shock to fans who know Arya for his powerful performances in films like Sarpatta Parambarai, Raja Rani, and Arrambam.
According to reports, IT officials raided Arya’s home located on Pinni Road in Teynampet, Chennai. Not just that, they also carried out searches at Sea Shell restaurant in Anna Nagar, a business Arya had been associated with in the past. The chain’s other branches in Velachery, Kottivakkam, Kilpauk, and Anna Nagar also came under the scanner.
While Arya is no longer the owner of Sea Shell, having sold the business to a man named Kunhi Musa a few years ago, it is Kunhi Musa’s financial dealings that reportedly brought Arya’s name into the picture. The Kochi unit of the IT Department is leading the investigation and has yet to make any formal statement about Arya’s current financial involvement, if any.
Interestingly, Arya was not in the headlines recently. He doesn’t have any immediate film releases or controversies. However, this unexpected raid has brought him under public glare again — this time not for his acting but for possible financial scrutiny.
No official statement has been issued by Arya or his team yet. As fans await clarification, speculation continues about the exact reason his name surfaced in the investigation.
