In a heart-wrenching accident in Maharashtra’s Sindhudurg district, four lives were lost on the spot when a passenger rickshaw collided head-on with a state transport (ST) bus near Naringre village in Devgad taluka. One more person sustained critical injuries and has been shifted to a hospital in Goa for advanced treatment.
The victims—identified as Sanket Ghadi, Santosh Gavkar, Rohan Naik, and Sonu Kolambkar—were all passengers in the rickshaw. Tragically, none of them survived the impact. The lone survivor, Raghunath Binsale, is currently battling for life.
The accident occurred on the Vijaydurga-Malvan road, a route often traveled by locals. Preliminary reports suggest that the ST bus and the rickshaw crashed directly into each other, leading to the devastating outcome. Emergency responders and local police rushed to the scene shortly after the collision.
The sudden loss has left the local community in deep shock, casting a pall of grief over the village. Police have launched a full investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
