Three youths died and two were critically injured after a speeding car crashed near Bilda Phata. The vehicle hit a cement wall. Overspeeding is suspected; investigation is ongoing.
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar | June 25, 2025 – What began as a casual night drive turned into a devastating tragedy near Bilda Phata on the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar–Jalgaon National Highway, as a speeding car lost control and crashed into a cement wall, leaving three young lives lost and two battling for survival.
The horrific accident occurred late Monday night, shaking the quiet town of Phulambri and sending shockwaves across Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The car, carrying five friends, was crushed beyond recognition in the collision, leaving nothing but shattered metal and grief behind.
The deceased have been identified as:
- Syed Maruf Syed Majed
- Arafat Bagwan
- Rehan Syed
All three were residents of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
The two survivors, Syed Ujef and Sheikh Sharik, sustained serious injuries and are currently undergoing intensive treatment at Ghati Hospital. Their condition remains critical, hospital sources report.
According to preliminary reports, the group was returning from Phulambri toward Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar when the driver lost control near Bilda Phata. The car rammed into a cement barrier on the bridge, the impact so powerful that the vehicle was completely mangled, leaving only the wheels distinguishable.
Local residents and police rushed to the spot. While the bodies of the deceased were pulled out from the wreckage, the injured were immediately shifted to the hospital. The accident also caused a temporary traffic disruption, which was cleared after the police moved the wrecked vehicle to the side.
While the exact cause of the accident is yet to be confirmed, police suspect overspeeding and driver misjudgment led to the fatal crash. A case has been registered, and an official investigation is underway to verify the details.
The tragedy has cast a gloom over the city and serves as yet another grim reminder of how reckless driving can instantly turn joy into irreversible loss.
