Narayana E-Techno School in Latur, running illegally for 2 years, sealed by the Education Department. Over 800 students affected. Parents demand answers as fee refunds and re-admissions remain uncertain.
Latur | June 25, 2025 – Just as the academic year began, a major development has rocked parents and students in Latur. The Education Department has sealed Narayana E-Techno School, which was allegedly operating illegally for the past two years, leaving the futures of over 800 students hanging in the balance.
Despite collecting hefty fees between ₹75,000 to ₹1 lakh per student, the school had no government recognition, a fact confirmed after a departmental inspection. What followed has sparked widespread concern among parents and education activists.
Narayana E-Techno School, located in Latur city, had been running without the mandatory approval from the Education Department. Although an order was issued on January 10, 2025, demanding immediate closure and slapping a fine of ₹27 lakh, the school continued to operate and even admitted new students this year.
Despite prior knowledge and repeated violations, the Education Department acted only after Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) staged a protest at the school last month. On Tuesday, armed with police protection and four hours of effort, officials finally sealed the premises.
This abrupt closure has raised critical concerns:
- What will happen to the academic future of over 800 enrolled students?
- Will students be accommodated in nearby recognized schools?
- Will the fees paid by parents be refunded?
- Why did authorities delay action despite knowing the school was illegal?
Parents, many of whom were unaware of the school’s illegal status, are now demanding urgent intervention and clarity. Activists from MNS claim that both the Education Department and police ignored earlier complaints, leading to this crisis at the start of the academic year.
The Education Officer has filed a request for FIR at Shivajinagar Police Station, demanding criminal action against the school management. A formal investigation is expected to follow.
