A vice principal’s greed betrays trust, demanding bribes for exam duties. Anti-Corruption Bureau’s swift action restores hope for justice in Baramati.
Baramati, June 25, 2025 – A government official’s betrayal has rocked Baramati, as the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Avadhoot Bhimaji Jadhwar, a 53-year-old vice principal at Anantrao Pawar Government Industrial 1.Training Institute in Malegaon, for accepting a ₹40,000 bribe. The sting operation, executed on June 24 at Hotel City Inn, exposed Jadhwar’s demand for payment to appoint an exam supervisor for 45 students at a private paramedical institute.
The institute’s chairman, unwilling to succumb to Jadhwar’s pressure, alerted the ACB after the official allegedly demanded ₹90,000—₹2,000 per student—and had already taken ₹10,000 as an advance. Even after appointing the supervisor, Jadhwar reportedly pressed for an additional ₹80,000, later negotiated to ₹40,000. The ACB, acting on the complaint, caught Jadhwar red-handed as he accepted the marked currency, with witnesses present to ensure transparency.
2.A case has been filed under the Prevention of Corruption Act at Baramati Taluka Police Station, with the investigation guided by senior ACB officials. This arrest sends a powerful message to the community, reaffirming the fight against corruption and the hope for integrity in education.
