After Tejashree Pradhan moved from Star Pravah back to Zee Marathi, Satish Rajwade responded gracefully, stating that their focus is on self-improvement and the Marathi industry, not competition or ownership of artists.
Mumbai | July 10, 2025: The world of Marathi television is currently witnessing a healthy competition between two giants — Zee Marathi and Star Pravah. While Zee Marathi once dominated the TRP charts, Star Pravah has surged ahead in recent years, capturing audience loyalty with strong content and fresh narratives.
In the midst of this rivalry, a notable development has caught the attention of viewers — actress Tejashree Pradhan’s channel shift. Tejashree, once a household name on Zee Marathi, made a successful comeback through Star Pravah’s hit show Premachi Goshta. Her return was met with immense love. However, her sudden exit from the show, even as it topped the charts, shocked fans. Soon after, she was seen headlining a new show on Zee Marathi again. Her abrupt exit led to the wrap-up of Premachi Goshta within days.

In light of this, Star Pravah’s content head and director Satish Rajwade recently spoke to Tarangan magazine and shared his thoughts on the situation — without naming Tejashree directly.
When asked about an actress moving from his channel to a rival one, Rajwade calmly said, “She was originally from the other channel and came to us. I honestly believe we aren’t competing with anyone else. Our competition is with ourselves.”
On whether the channel keeps track of rival moves, he added, “Of course, we do. This is a business. We must observe and evolve to grow and stay relevant. But our focus is always on how to improve, how to create quality content that reaches the widest audience.”
Responding to the discussion of artists moving between channels, he shared a progressive view: “Actors come and go. This is a small industry. Very few actors work across dramas, serials, and films. We shouldn’t label anyone as ‘ours’ or ‘theirs’. Whenever a good actor performs in front of a dedicated audience, it strengthens the Marathi entertainment world. That’s what truly matters.”
Rajwade’s mature and industry-first perspective has been appreciated by many, especially in an environment often fueled by rivalry and ratings.
