Actor Sandeep Baswana shared insights on his 22-year live-in relationship with actress Ashlesha Sawant, calling marriage “just paperwork” and highlighting their bond rooted in love, freedom, and shared spirituality.
Mumbai | July 23, 2025: Actor Sandeep Baswana and Marathi actress Ashlesha Sawant, known for her role in the serial Anupamaa, have been in a live-in relationship for the past 22 years. Recently, Sandeep opened up candidly about their long-standing bond in an interview, sharing thoughts on love, spirituality, and marriage.
Sandeep revealed that while they’ve been together for over two decades, marriage is not a priority for them. “I live in the present. Whether I get married or not, I will be with my partner,” he said, adding, “We give a lot of importance to paperwork, so maybe I’ll marry for that reason—but not to prove anything.”
He reminisced about their first meeting on the sets of Kamal, when Ashlesha was just 18 and he was 24. Over time, their bond deepened without rigid expectations. “We didn’t make life plans. It was always about being with each other and giving each other company,” he shared.
Sandeep also reflected on his personal journey—from seeking fun in Mumbai to eventually finding meaning through spirituality. He introduced Ashlesha to Osho Ashram in 2014-15, which deeply impacted her. “Now she says—even if I die, it doesn’t matter, but there should be love together,” he said emotionally.
Known for her dedicated work in the television industry, Ashlesha has earned recognition in both Marathi and Hindi entertainment, while Sandeep has been admired for his grounded nature and spiritual approach to life.
