Ahead of the historic Thackeray brothers’ rally, Vasant More made an emotional appeal, calling the day a celebration of Marathi pride. The former MNS leader called it a deeply personal and symbolic moment.

PUNE/MUMBAI, JULY 5: In a moment that has stirred emotions across Maharashtra, Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray are set to appear on a shared stage after 19 years, rekindling hopes of Marathi unity amid political uncertainty. The joint rally at Worli’s NSCI Dome, marks not just a political reunion — but a deeply symbolic one.

Amid this historic backdrop, Vasant More, the outspoken leader from Pune who recently shifted allegiance from MNS to the Thackeray faction (Shiv Sena UBT), has made an emotional appeal to party workers and supporters across the state.

As he departed for Mumbai to attend the rally, More addressed party workers with a heartfelt message.
“Today is not an ordinary day — it’s a day of pride and joy for every Marathi person. After two decades, both Thackeray brothers are standing together. This is history being written,” he said.

Encouraging his followers in Pune, More urged, “This isn’t just a rally, this is a celebration. Come and dance, express your pride. Let Mumbai feel the energy of Marathi unity.”

Vasant More’s own presence at this rally carries emotional weight. Once a loyal MNS leader, he left the party despite Raj Thackeray’s objections and joined the Uddhav Thackeray-led faction.
“I have worked closely with both Raj Saheb and Uddhav Saheb, but I’ve never seen them share the same platform. That’s why this moment is so personal, so different for me,” More shared.

He emphasized that the rally represents not just political collaboration, but the long-awaited emotional reconciliation between two iconic leaders of Maharashtra’s Marathi identity movement.

As the rally draws in thousands from across the state, More’s words reflect the mood of many — a mix of hope, nostalgia, and cultural pride. The message is clear: today is more than politics. It is about Maharashtra.
