Pune’s district administration is set to introduce an online registration system for Bhimashankar devotees, aiming to streamline dar Ascent times and enhance safety with a ₹288 crore development plan.

In a heartfelt effort to ease the pilgrimage experience at Bhimashankar, one of India’s twelve sacred Jyotirlingas, the Pune district administration is rolling out an online darshan registration system starting this Shravan. This initiative, announced during a key meeting on June 28, seeks to cut waiting times, improve crowd flow, and introduce modern amenities like organized parking and enhanced security, mirroring systems at Shirdi.

1.The decision comes alongside a ₹288 crore investment to uplift the Bhimashankar region ahead of the Kumbh Mela. The meeting, attended by senior officials and community leaders, highlighted the struggles devotees face, including long queues and inadequate facilities. 1.Concerns were also raised about rising illegal activities and petty crimes around the temple, prompting calls for immediate police action to protect the shrine’s sanctity and ensure visitor safety.

The administration, in collaboration with the Bhimashankar Devasthan Trust, is working swiftly to implement these changes. A detailed action plan is being prepared to address these issues, fostering hope among devotees for a safer, smoother pilgrimage experience that honors the spiritual significance of this revered site.
