The disruption occurred when a railway fault was noticed near Badlapur early in the morning. As a result, local trains heading towards Karjat were delayed, and services between Kalyan and CSMT were running 15 minutes late on the slow line. However, fast trains are currently operating on time. In an emergency measure, passengers traveling from Karjat to Mumbai have been allowed to board Mail Express trains.

So far, four local trains and one express train have been delayed. Several local trains from Karjat to CSMT have been cancelled altogether. Due to the disruption, services heading to Mumbai are delayed by 30 to 35 minutes, causing a heavy rush at stations like Badlapur, Vangani, and Kalyan.
