Pune, 31 May 2025 : Pune’s revered Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Sarvajanik Ganpati Trust Suvarnayug Tarun Mandal is all set to mesmerize devotees this year by creating a grand replica of the Padmanabhaswamy Temple of Kerala for the 133rd year of Ganeshotsav celebrations.

The original Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple, located in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, is one of the 108 Divya Desams – the holiest sanctuaries of Lord Vishnu in the Sri Vaishnava tradition. Now, for the first time, a splendid recreation of this iconic  tabernacle will be brought to life in Pune, offering addicts a unique spiritual and architectural experience.

The replica, standing approximately 100 feet tall, will combine the Kerala-style and Dravidian-style architecture, making it a major attraction for visitors from across India and abroad. The temple’s structure will feature a five-tiered gopuram (entrance tower) and intricately designed depictions of Krishnaleela, Ramayana, Saptarishi, as well as symbolic representations like horses, elephants, and lions.

Inside the replica,  icons  of Vishnu- Lakshmi, Shiva- Parvati, Shri Krishna, and Narasimha will be installed. The centerpiece will be a  magnific  hero of Lord Padmanabhaswamy in a reclining posture, placed in an octagonal section above the main sanctum. As in the original  tabernacle, three distinct darshan views will be presented

– The first door will offer a glimpse of Lord Padmanabha with a Shivling beneath his arm.

– The second door will reveal the gold consecrated idols of Padmanabha, Sridevi, and Bhudevi, alongside the silver utsav idol.

– The third door will allow devotees to see the feet of the deity, Bhudevi, and Markandeya Muni.

The inauguration ceremony of this year’s decoration was recently held at the trust’s Hirabagh Kothi unit, near Sanas Maidan, in the presence of acclaimed art directors Vinayak Raskar and Sarita Raskar. Trust president Sunil Rasane highlighted that for several years, the Dagdusheth Ganpati Trust has been committed to crafting stunning replicas of prominent temples across India, and this year’s tribute to Padmanabhaswamy Temple will uphold that legacy.

With devotees eagerly anticipating Ganeshotsav 2025, this  stirring recreation of the Padmanabhaswamy Temple is poised to be one of the most visited and  deified highlights of the  gleeful season in Pune.
