Pune | 05 June, 2025: In a major anti-corruption breakthrough, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on May 27 caught Resident Deputy Collector Vinod Khirolkar and Revenue Assistant Dilip Tribhuvan red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹41 lakh in a land deal.
The bribe was allegedly demanded in connection with an agricultural land transaction. Acting on a complaint, the ACB set a trap and arrested the duo. Following the arrest, the ACB raided Khirolkar’s residence, uncovering assets far beyond known income sources.
During the raid, officials seized:
- Gold worth ₹50 lakh
- Cash amounting to ₹13 lakh
- Silver ornaments weighing 3.5 kg
- Other valuables, totaling ₹67.45 lakh
In light of the incident, Divisional Commissioner Jitendra Papalkar ordered Khirolkar’s suspension, and he has been temporarily posted to the Jalna Collectorate during the suspension period.
The scandal has sent shockwaves through the revenue department, raising questions about the depth of corruption within the administrative system.
