Dharashiv, Maharashtra, June 25, 2025 – A horrific gang rape case has surfaced in a village in Dharashiv taluka, where a young woman was allegedly assaulted by her boyfriend and two accomplices. The incident, reported on June 16, 2025, has sparked outrage and prompted swift action from the Dhoki Police Station.
According to the victim’s complaint, her boyfriend, who had promised marriage, lured her to a shed under the pretext of discussing their future. There, he and his two friends allegedly gang-raped her, threatening to kill her family if she spoke out. The accused reportedly said, “I listen to my friends, not my father. Let them have physical relations too, or we’ll kill your father and Uncle” The perpetrators then dropped her home, leaving her traumatized.
The victim confided in her father, who supported her in filing a case at Dhoki Police Station. The police have registered charges against the three accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for gang rape, criminal intimidation, and other offenses. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities collecting digital evidence, including social media posts showing the accused posing with knives and swords, which has fueled public demands for immediate action.
Local residents and activists have called for stringent punishment, citing the brutality of the crime and the betrayal of trust. The case has also raised concerns about women’s safety in rural areas. The police have assured a thorough probe, with medical reports and witness statements being prioritized to build a strong case.
