Sangli police busted a drug racket in Kadegaon, arresting four suspects from Vita and seizing narcotic injections, cars, and mobiles worth over ₹10 lakh. All accused are in police custody.
Sangli | July 28, 2025: In a significant anti-narcotics operation, police have busted a drug distribution network in Newri, Kadegaon taluka of Sangli district, seizing narcotic injections, two vehicles, mobile phones, and other materials collectively valued at ₹10,01,450. Four suspects from Vita city were arrested during the raid.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Rohit Hanmant Shinde (23), Raju Vitthal Hargude (29), Vishal Ananda Chavan (28), and Shubham Raju Bhagwat (28) — all residents of Vita.
The operation took place on the evening of Sunday, July 27, near a closed poultry shed along the Vita-Pusesawali road. Based on a tip-off, police raided the area and found 15 sealed bottles of ‘Mephentermine Sulphate’ in a car (MH 29 DF 0895) linked to Rohit and Raju. It was discovered that the duo was delivering the drugs to Vishal and Shubham.
The seized items include:
- 15 drug bottles worth ₹4,410
- Two cars worth ₹6.5 lakh
- Cash and mobile phones worth ₹2.57 lakh
The total seizure crosses ₹10 lakh.
A case has been registered at Kadegaon Police Station, and all four suspects have been remanded in police custody till Wednesday, July 30. The investigation is being led by Police Inspector Sangram Shewale, PSI Praveen Jadhav, and Constable Amol Nagar.
