Pune: Marking the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram and the 131st memorial year of Rishi Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, the Rishi Bankim Chandra Commemoration Festival presents a special art exhibition in Pune that traces the song’s profound journey through Indian history.
This unique art exhibition in Pune brings together iconic depictions of Bharat Mata painted by some of India’s most celebrated artists. Each artwork on Vande Mataram weaves a visual narrative of patriotism, struggle, and cultural pride, offering visitors a glimpse into the song’s enduring legacy.
The exhibition will be held at the Balgandharva Art Gallery Pune from Tuesday, 8th to Saturday, 12th, open daily from 10 AM to 8 PM. The inauguration ceremony in Pune will take place on Tuesday at 5:30 PM, graced by MP Dr. Medha Kulkarni, along with distinguished artists Chandrasekhar Joshi and Shri Anil Uplekar.
Exhibition organizers Makarand Kelkar and Vande Mataram scholar Milind Sabnis expressed their enthusiasm for this artistic tribute to Vande Mataram during a press conference held on Friday. Organizers emphasized how the exhibition not only honors the song’s historical significance but also rekindles its spirit in contemporary times.
